Georgie of In It 4 the Long Run // Wellness Women.

When you dive in DEEP into the health and wellness realm, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed with all the information of shoulds and musts that you read when it comes to navigating what is best for you. In today’s Wellness Woman, Georgie, is one of the few friendly IG faces I discovered that has remained consistent on following her personal truth through intuitive eating, way before it was deemed a “fad”. It has been fun to watch her journey evolve, as she’s grown from foodie blogger to personal growth podcaster.

Take a minute to read Georgie’s story, and I hope you feel inspired by her to follow YOUR personal truth, just as I am!

FAVORITE FOOD? TREAT? INDULGENCE?

Lately, my favorite feel-good food has been Annie’s mac&cheese with sautéed zucchini. I also never get sick of avocado toast or a big buddha bowl warm salad kinda deal.

MUST HAVE SELF-CARE ITEM/RITUAL?

I have so many self-care rituals but some of my favorites are fresh flowers and lighting candles. Smell makes a big difference for me when it comes to feeling good in my space.

WHAT TYPE OF MOVEMENT BRINGS YOU JOY?

My favorite kind of exercise is definitely rollerblading. If I’m going to a fitness class I either love yoga (especially restorative) or barre.

SHARE A LITTLE ABOUT YOUR HEALTH JOURNEY.

In high school, I wanted to lose weight which sucked me down the rabbit hole of disordered eating. Through recovering from that experience I’ve learned to truly accept and appreciate my body. I’ve learned to eat intuitively after years of counting calories and I feel more at home and confident in my body than ever before.

Now, I share my experiences and journey through wellness and self-discovery on my blog, social media, and podcast.

WHAT DO YOU HOPE TO CONVEY TO OTHER WOMEN SEEKING OPTIMAL HEALTH FOR THEMSELVES?

I hope women learn and understand that they are their own greatest teacher. We can seek inspiration and learn from others, yet when it comes down to healing, and optimizing health our bodies are our greatest source of information. They key is learning how to listen and go inwards.

IF YOU COULD GIVE SOMEONE ONE TIP FOR STARTING OUT ON THEIR HEALTH JOURNEY, WHAT WOULD IT BE?

Trust your instincts and learn to cultivate your intuition. There’s so much information out there that can really contradict and confuse. If you know how to listen to yourself, you’ll become a good judge of who else to trust and listen to for advice as well.

SHARE YOUR FAVORITE QUOTE OR SOURCE OF INSPIRATION.

One of my favorites sources of inspiration comes from Jess Lively who is the creator of The Lively Show. It’s fascinating and has totally helped me learn to listen to my intuition and not my ego.

IF YOU COULD PICK TWO WORDS TO REPRESENT YOUR PERSONAL HEALTH MANTRA, WHAT WOULD THEY BE AND WHY?

Joy & Energy

Those are the two words I use to define health. I feel that if you feel joy and energy in your body you are able to thrive and grow. With a million and 1 health experts telling us how we should live our lives, I find that if I continue to focus on joy and energy everything else falls into place naturally.
